At VEDA Egg Donation Agency, we understand that the journey to parenthood is unique for everyone. We are here to offer hope and support to those who have embarked on the path of donor egg fertility treatment.

For those facing challenges with fertility, our Donor Egg Recipient Program opens the door to the beautiful possibility of becoming a parent. We believe that every individual deserves the chance to experience the joy of nurturing a new life.

THE RECIPIENT PROCESS

Step One

Become a patient at Vitalab. Fill in our online enquiry form and reception will get back to you with the available appointment times and forms.

Step Two

Consultation by one of Vitalab’s Fertility Specialists at Vitalab. You can read about them here: www.vitalab.com. Get a full evaluation and treatment plan from your Doctor which may include a referral to VEDA.

Step Three

Choose your preferred or doctor-suggested VEDA Egg Donor Package – Fresh or Frozen. All these options will be explained to you in detail at VEDA situated within Vitalab.

Step Four

Be referred to a Counsellor who will assist you on this walk, and offer you invaluable emotional support.

Step Five

Choose an Egg Donor – either fresh or frozen. You will be given a username and password from VEDA to access the online portal containing all available egg donors. You can then browse these eggs donors and select your top choices or favourite donor. Once you have made your final decision and have chosen a donor on the portal, VEDA will contact you to arrange further booking details and next steps.

2-week donor screening process: To be accepted on the VEDA programme, the potential egg donor must fully complete an application form disclosing important information such as medical history, family heritage, personality traits, and physical characteristics including baby/childhood photos. Once approved, their anonymous donor profile is available for recipients to view and select. VEDA then invites a selected donor applicant to undergo a free clinical physical examination of their reproductive system by means of a transvaginal ultrasound to assess egg quantity; routine drug screening; blood tests which provide valuable information regarding their own fertility and state of health confirming blood group and the absence of illnesses such as Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), hepatitis B & C as well as syphilis. Should all results be satisfactory, the donor is referred to a preferred social worker for a mandatory counselling session. This concludes the two-week screening process. Should a donor not pass, the doctor explains the reason and reassures it is to protect her own health whilst managing the recipient’s expectation regarding the possibility of egg retrieval or cancellation thereof.

Accepted donors are instructed on how to proceed – we await the donor’s menstrual cycle to plan the treatment dates, lasting about 2-6 weeks with 4-6 appointments involved. Commitment and reliability are characteristics we seek in an egg donor. The treatment may be cancelled before reaching egg retrieval if the donor is not responding correctly to the medication, which the Specialist is able to detect during a transvaginal ultrasound appointment. Based on what has been learnt in the previous stimulation, this may or may not prevent a new cycle from commencing.

Step Six

Commencement of the treatment cycle. Once your donor match has been finalised, your actual treatment cycle at Vitalab can be planned by your Nurse Co-ordinator while still being supported every step of the way.
